to melt

to melt

A Poem by Emily B

Gazing at the frozen lake today,

noticing

one lonely, rushing stream

when the rest of the water was solid

unmoving--

it occurred to me

that no matter how warm the sun

the thaw can only happen

a little at a time.

it's a lot like the mind too..I've found in life and even in doing mind altering plant substances..you can only be shown so much at a time..whether it's subconscious visions or profound ideas..there's layers to the mind..there's reasons people go insane when they take in or give out too much at once..consciousness is a natural flow. Take it from me, I'm borderline manic-depressive.
But anyway, this imagery has the proper pace and poise and grace and flow to make your thoughts and the readers' come alive and converge at just the right spot..

It's less relevant the rate of the change, than that every droplet thawed increases the rate of thaw! It only take the slightest impetus to begin the process, but, once begun, it is irrevocable! And what makes this poem so beautiful is that it applies to EVERYTHING: The close-mindedness, the human heart, prejudice in society, every-thing is opened more, if only someone or something will open it FIRST! A really lovely thought, Emily.

. oh ... i remember these words ... and i remember how much i absolutely loved them ... the wisdom in your words is as baffling as it is comforting ... the picture you paint is incredibly beautiful ... and of course you put the sun in its place ... or maybe that's just my way of putting it ... since the sun and i don't get along too well these days ... stunning work, emily ...

In reply to your review only this.I find i can't keep moving foward from where i am so I have decided to go back to a place where I can see things clearer and move the same direction on a diffrent track.
