One Perfect Word

One Perfect Word

A Poem by Emily B
"

an old one . . .

"

Last night I dreamed

You said one word to me

And it expressed your heart so perfectly

You said it again.

That perfect word between two minds

Meant worlds and beyond.

The intensity of your gaze

Made me believe.

The word vanished when I woke

And I have never regretted more

The loss of one perfect word.

I think most of us hold that one perfect word in reserve until (hopefully) at last we find the special someone to whisper it to. Not the standard words we would expect... I'm thinking of one word we've never spoken with the "intensity" you mentioned. Maybe I'm rambling... Just one ordinary word can change a life though if it is said in the proper circumstance.
Nicely written!
