my apologies

my apologies

A Poem by Emily B

I know what you're thinking

and I'm sorry.

I can't explain.

I don't have words enough for it . . .

I want to be honest.

Bare all to you,

it's just there's so much weight

bearing on me today.

Too many voices

whispering in my ear -

wanting too many things.

I may avoid your gaze now

but later

the skies will clear again

This is a beautiful and honest piece. Often, I find myself not wanting to be around people that I normally love to be with and it's nothing they've done, it's just my cloudy head not finding the words. You have such a way of putting such deep and unexplainable emotions into words and I so admire you for that.

I love the simplicity of this. They say a poem should evoke emotion. Add something all can relate to. Who has not visited this place?

Nice work.

I like this poem. It has happened to me. Sometimes, I feel far too vunerable to be just plain honest. So, I say nothing or deny my feelings all together.

If only we all had the words to be this honest with other people in our lives. My ex had a great term for these days... he called it days of being, "unfit for human consumption." I can only wonder at the interior forces that dictate to us when we cannot allow others to help us share the burden of the weight we carry on our shoulders.

You are so real and honest, and always thoughtful of others feelings. That is why you are a special person.
Yes, the skies will clear again.

And if you missed my posting of the song on Facebook you can watch it on YouTube but it's a river of truth with a pebble of wisdom which leads to a waterfall of laughter.

ahh your words just cut through - the emotions - and you always end with a little almost resolve - the skies will clear again - when the troubles subside! so nice!
