my apologies

my apologies

A Poem by Emily B

I know what you're thinking

and I'm sorry.

I can't explain.

I don't have words enough for it . . .

I want to be honest.

Bare all to you,

it's just there's so much weight

bearing on me today.

Too many voices

whispering in my ear -

wanting too many things.

I may avoid your gaze now

but later

the skies will clear again

This is a beautiful and honest piece. Often, I find myself not wanting to be around people that I normally love to be with and it's nothing they've done, it's just my cloudy head not finding the words. You have such a way of putting such deep and unexplainable emotions into words and I so admire you for that.

Being open about being closed down--engendering a lovely poetic promise to soon reconnect.
Unique and admirable.

This is a fine poem, a wise reflection that captures thought exactly,a poem that is honest and captures the complex nature of relationships, and then ends with a great last line that inspires hope. Great.

I'll hold your hand and walk with you
Its not enough to walk alone through
Together we will peak the hilltops
We'll man the helms until its stops

For we know what we have is gifted
the thoughts rage on us not sifted
For we are the hidden rats of life
Buried well in our constant strife

Stay close to me don't leave the side
For its me you know you can confide
I am always watching for being needed
Your my mind so together undefeated.

Love you.
