seduced

seduced

A Poem by Emily B
"

inspired by Jibey

"

your words

ran away with me

this morning

maybe it was the fog

creeping in through open windows

til I surrendered

maybe my imagination

was seized strongest

by the first words I met on waking

maybe I dreamed you

only to wake and hear you whisper

stay close

love it...simple language and strongly emotive .. and is written to be taken on more than one level .. those first thoughts and impressions on waking ..or just before...can have such a strong impact on at least the first few hours of the day ..if not more .. the space between dreams and the "real" world can be stretched sometimes ..and oh how the imaginations can get ones full attention ... i love the title and i love the poem ..and how they work together to create a sensual thread .. so glad we have met.

Those dreams that feel so real and linger on once we are lucid.

This poem does what I suppose poetry should do, elicit feeling. If a musician strikes a note on a piano the string vibrates, but below that note - that intentional note- all the other strings vibrate in sympathy. I'm humming with you now.

Something just like this happened to me this morning :) I love dreams like that, when it seems you can hear them still speaking to you. :) Emily this does something to my brain, lol...it's beautiful.

As did yours, I feel this one, it's dreamlike and tickles me awake, especially that first jolt in the morn, it's like a fine cuppa. Well said. You've captured the moment!

So true, you are a wise woman ;-)
for over a year now you have taken my hand and ran and ran until this knee of mine gave out.
then you sat with me waiting for my dreams to catch up. that is what imagination can be accused of.
FIT, the degree of closeness between surfaces.

nicely written

This is a delightful study in sychronicity - of the coinciding of feeling and fact that makes a perfect moment. Love it. P.

thank you :)
Whatever and whichever, from the feel and tone of your words, the sensation has remained with you - and will. A brief but amazingly emotional write, ' .. maybe I dreamed you ~ only to wake and hear you whisper ~ stay close '

How could you do otherwise.

What a beautiful little gem! I absolutely love the feeling this one gave to me. I have often woke and felt the pull of half dreams, wondering if what I dreamed was real or just a figment of my imagination. I love the idea of someone's words or voice running away with you (or me); beautiful idea indeed. Words are so very powerful.
