A Poem by Emily B
"

still in progress / inspired by Eric

"

I am snippets of conversation

overheard on your way to somewhere else

all the more tantalizing

for the details you miss.

Cups of steaming coffee

and scandalous nuance

wandering close

to ward off commonplace hours.

You crane nearer

trying to catch snatches

hovering somewhere near

synchronicity.

Come on over.

Pull up a chair.

I will make all plain--

Eventually.

I think it will grow given enough sun and rain. Whitman encourages that Song of Myself. But I wonder if "I am" can be over-used after a while . . .

I believe we all gather little pieces of information from each other through our writing and than try to paint a picture of those people that interest us the most, and at times we don't always see the real picture, or some of us just are curious enough to come out and ask people questions about themselves.
In reality, we only let people know what we want to let them know. Now you have me thinking. lol

This was so wonderfully intriguing, revealing and concealing, mysterious... So perfectly expresses how we piece people together through bits of this or that we gather on the wind... Loved the depth of this write!

As C Boylan says, it's a pretty cool concept. And Eric gets us right there just like the poem says. There is something extra special about the "E" name poets of this place. I love it, Emily.

How true.
Is it the poem talking to us, or the narrator or...?
Hmm. A growing snippet. Pretty cool concept.
