angels, sometimes

angels, sometimes

A Poem by Emily B
"

still nervous, no excuses

"

The angel of the Lord

sent me a message

the other day.

     Call your true love

     and learn ESP.

But willful child that I am

I politely declined

for one reason and another.

Who am I to follow direction

without question?

Is there room for growth here? Yes. Does it require any apology as it stands? Not one bit. (Think of this as a "Donald Rumsfeld review" to this point). This could have been angry in tone, and it would have hit the ground with a thud. As is, it's winsome, almost playful (the notion of one of the Lord's angels beseeching you to "learn ESP" is borderline comic), which is (in my view, anyway) the perfect note to strike here.

Very thoughtful and provoking. You did a very nice job of expression and feeling. I somehow sense what your words are dictating and can fully relate. You did a fine job here...

I think we all follow before we question
I guess that is just what makes us humans
I mean it's like Curoisty killed the cat kind of thing.
So to me this is kind of ironic in a way
I like it.

And I'd say you've already learned esp because this poem is proof of that. I love it when dreams get us that way. This is a real beauty Emily!

To me this is questioning not only the message but the messenger as well...for one reason and another, only you know those reasons. If we have ESP, we won't need that messenger. This stands on its own, nothing to be nervous about.
I believe we all question that higher power at one time or another.
