riding dreams

riding dreams

A Poem by Emily B

It's something about

dreams I can't remember

when my mind rambles on

running through hidden rhythms

looking for something greener.

It's something about

meeting you there in the mists

in-between natural conversation

and forgotten memories.

Having known you

and lost you and found you,

I still grieve those vacant hours

always harder before the rain comes.

It's something about

the way you hold my hand--

I'm sure of it--even if,

I can't remember how it felt.

What a wonderful poet you are, and what an illusive, beautiful painting of someone you love inside a dream you've given us! "I still grieve those vacant hours always harder before the rain comes" very profound and almost a seperate thought from the rest of the poem, still so well written; my favorite lines of the poem. Maybe because the whole poem strummed my heart-strings. Beautifully done, Emily. xx - Mimi.

Like missing them even as they lay with you... Your work is always so brief, yet it exudes a world's worth of truth and feeling.

. you live on that exotic island between instinct and intuition ... these glimpses are surreal ... and yet i'm feeling sad ... why do moments slip away? ... where do they go, emily? ... will they never come back? ... is waiting interminably the synonym of patience? ...

This is a wonderful poem about dreams and revisiting people you have lost in them. Dreams can bring back wonderful memories of people who have either passed on to the next world or whom we have lost because we let them go their own way or they let us go our own way. This poem describes both perfectly and you done a great job getting your thoughts and pictures across to the read.

that ghostly gossamer brush of memory that still lives just a breath shy of the skin~ this is beautiful Emily~ I know that elusive whisper of tactile memory very well~

Having known you
and lost you and found you,
I still grieve those vacant hours
always harder before the rain comes.

Distant dreams that feel real, or the past we cling onto as if a dream.........just beautiful, and this verse held me as it meant to me more than you could know.
