riding dreams

riding dreams

A Poem by Emily B

It's something about

dreams I can't remember

when my mind rambles on

running through hidden rhythms

looking for something greener.

It's something about

meeting you there in the mists

in-between natural conversation

and forgotten memories.

Having known you

and lost you and found you,

I still grieve those vacant hours

always harder before the rain comes.

It's something about

the way you hold my hand--

I'm sure of it--even if,

I can't remember how it felt.

What a wonderful poet you are, and what an illusive, beautiful painting of someone you love inside a dream you've given us! "I still grieve those vacant hours always harder before the rain comes" very profound and almost a seperate thought from the rest of the poem, still so well written; my favorite lines of the poem. Maybe because the whole poem strummed my heart-strings. Beautifully done, Emily. xx - Mimi.

how much pain those dreams cause upon waking...i too brood in those rain hours when the sky whispers its alright to grieve because it too has some bitterness toward the world

The heart is a dream giving to men and women that they might dare to dream, of course a by product of this might be art and falling in love.

I enjoyed the topic again very much.

there is something beautiful and sad in melancholy
i always said that there is nothing nice in memories because, even they content wonderful experiences, they can never come back :)

dreams are real, you know...

We've walked together
you and I
hand-in-hand
in hazy fields of satin grass
alas
memory fails me
the when and where,

somewhere
your words ring true
it must have been
in a dream

Written so softly yet, with such an intensity. "Having known you and lost you and found you" "meeting you there in the mists in-between natural conversation and forgotten memories"... These lines capture my soul..You can weave words more creatively than a tailor crafts cloth.

Great idea, the way you work on the theme dreams and recollection, the thin line between reality and perception, and presented with careful, well-observed lyrical capability, a fine poem, the reason I never forget to look at Emily´s work, it is always worth it.
