patience
A Poem by
Emily B
not where this was supposed to go
I thought I might walk out
this morning and bear witness
to the Passion
of the leaves on Big Hill.
I paused under the wise old oak.
Sat long and wondering
and my endurance was blessed
by scarlet and gold hues
intensifying above me.

Author's Note
I got caught up in the dynamic between patience and passion one day

A season of change, it seems to be, looking in the distance, beyond tomorrow for that passion.........that change. We wait patiently, only to find that it is there, in our own backyard........ we only needed to look for its colorful presence.
This is how I read this Emily and as always your words make us think, that is a good thing. You and nature are truely connected.

You describe the scene beautifully, and in poetic fashion too. Nicely penned. ~ Robert.

thank you :)
Wow, you have a real sense for capturing the moment. Poetic snapshots with wonderful depth perception. The more I read the more I like.

what brought me to your poetry is what brings me to it now...that balance
between patience and passion, like the reflex action of a grand pianist.
After I read this I felt triumphant as if it was me who should be celebrating
victory, not you....thanks for sharing this with us.....dana

and in just a brief commodicum of carefully chosen courses you have found that sweet spot between patience and passion which defines itself as contemplation. I wonder how I missed reading this earlier.

So is this a metaphor or a simple portryal of nature observed? Whatever it is once again emotion expressed in few words that evoke such colourful imagery.
