some mystery becomes the proud

some mystery becomes the proud

A Poem by Emily B

The wild conjurer flails enigmatic words

-coy- through the pale moonlight.

Magnanimous in his gleaming bounty

dances to the rhythms of a breeze.

Vast in his cunning and prowess

-lurks-in the pale moonlight.

I am the contrived reflection of shadow

echoing shallow spells ineffectually.

Contortions negate thought

Instincts ascend new heights

Invocations practice their approach

I fly higher than I've ever flown

perched precariously on a whim.

When two people are just perfect...it is like the type and shadow of love. One will match so personally, so perfectly, the two of you will become as the one and the shadow. It is a powerfully romantic image. It is made perfect in the perfection that you achieve in his oneness with your soul. Superlative piece of poetry, laced with deeper imagery - layer upon layer of love's presuppositions.

sometimes i feel like everyone else can say it better than me, but i like how this poem had an open feeling to it. the last two lines were perfect.

I like what Ziggy and C.T. Bailey said ... Yes to all of those things. A wonderful poem, Emily.

I fly higher than I've ever flown
perched precariously on a whim... Beautiful, indeed.

This gives me the images of the perfect man...among moonlight,
the allure of darkness around him...of strength, sensuality, exploring
the world through his wings. Great images here....AD

perhaps you should jump on more of your whims... great ride! thats what i like most about poetry, the ride. meaning are just meaning (and rarely meaningful or worth mentioning) but to get lost in the voice of someones elses mind, learn to ride their waves, yeah, thats the best part. very well done. one of your best i think.

really enjoyed it. a striking imagery and a unique style.
not sure why three lines are italisized. they don't really stand out from the rest of the work.
that aside, it's a fantastic piece.

Your expression is powerful through the metaphors you have chosen to describe this wonderful experience. I also am drawn to the beauty of the night and it is such a peaceful free environment! ~ Jude xo :-)
