A Poem by Emily B
"

my contribution to the moon and me phenomenon going on lately

"

Here I sit

thinking of stars.

Thinking of you

under

those other stars.

Wanting to be up there

dancing

like the mortal moth.

The moon is bright.

The air is still.

Not damp. Not too cool.

Just clear.

With a sprinkling

of stars.

Let's stand barefoot

in dry grass

in an open field

under those stars.

Out where

nobody can see

and watch

the shadows fall.

Or walk out in darkness

finding

our halting way

fingers

twined loosely

step by step.

There is the moon, though.

And I believe,

somewhere,

the Creator

must be smiling.

I had a vision yesterday while my band was trying "Knocking on heaven 's door" for the first time...something about how some dude said jesus isn't home right now or something, so we smoked some heavenly pot, because it's the same as coffee up there...I was ridiculously tired, but I saw some interesting things in that vision. So yeah, "mortal moth"...reminded me of that a bit. (-;

There is something very mysterious about this...like there is more to
come, and not over. The night is such a place to capture such
thoughts. AD

Here you turn a common evening into a tender romance. This was full of moments, extremely satisfying it its humbleness. One doesn't need to use unusual exceptional words to create exceptional beauty, this what it said to me.

i feel obligated to comment on the beautiful imagery (even though it's already been done). it reminded me of a night last year when i drove my then girlfriend out to the peninsula of a lake near to us. the full moon was shimmering on the water, and the landscape was just as you described, except surrounded by water on three sides. thank you for reviving the memory.

Very beautiful,
I enjoy poems where I feel it as if I am right there, at the place you describe and I do feel it in this poem.

This is so descriptive and wonderful. You bring the night magic to life in such a beautiful way. I love the thought of walking barefoot under the stars with the moon and the creator smiling down.

splendidly awesome, and i must say its excellently penned. the lines very well connect....the imagery profoundly stood out giving the piece that "make willian shakepear nod his head with affirmation of its awesomeness and probably say NAY THIS PIECE OF ART THOU EXUDES BRILLIANCE" or probably make the 21st century underground poet like 2pac (rest in peace bro) say "damn this s**t is tha bomb"
