Success

Success

A Poem by Emily B
"

in pursuit of the Magnum Opus

"

as I am a child of the Universe,

I choose

to converse with angels.

Someday

I will learn

the powers that define

true grace.

I will be

my own Greatest Work

when I surrender.

I was moved by your poem and few I've read do that to me. I got choked up: one of the proofs for me that a poem holds a universe of emotion is that it can race my heart, blur my eyes, give a tremble to my lip. And this poem did that for me. And you end it with the word "surrender," which is the door through which you finally enter to learn all the answers that once clouded your mind.

I was expecting something quite mediocre because of this title, I was glad and surprised to find this jewel.

It has a spirtual quality that I can only hope you write more of, since spiritual poetry is to me the highest aim and the true vocation of the poet.

I find much inspiration in this. We are our own greatest work. :)

We fight against ourselves but need to submit sometimes. You combined the scientific universe with the spiritual angels....nice diachotomy. This is one of your most potent short poems:)

We are what our spirits dictate: the need for goodness, for gathering it in armfuls and then to be immersed in its joy.

Your words are so often near mind-changing .. this is another lesson on how to re-shape thought.

I do like this poem. Only with your hands open and upturned might you receive what is yours all along. And I would love to hear what the angels had to say.

exactly, surrender to learn
and not being able to keep your own ideas,
but surrender, so you are open to other thoughts or works
nice work ,

Someone I once knew said that there is valliance in the struggle rather than the victory. He was very wise too.
