Success

Success

A Poem by Emily B
"

in pursuit of the Magnum Opus

"

as I am a child of the Universe,

I choose

to converse with angels.

Someday

I will learn

the powers that define

true grace.

I will be

my own Greatest Work

when I surrender.

I was moved by your poem and few I've read do that to me. I got choked up: one of the proofs for me that a poem holds a universe of emotion is that it can race my heart, blur my eyes, give a tremble to my lip. And this poem did that for me. And you end it with the word "surrender," which is the door through which you finally enter to learn all the answers that once clouded your mind.

Biblical. Deep and moving. Simple to read. And very grasping. Sometimes surrendering to what is around us can be the greatest success. Nice.

A fine poem, simple but not simple, a poem that creates endless theological and moral questions, a poem with strong, direct words that will impress every reader who understands literature. Good work.

No words...I am at peace, and I wish to stay that way for a while. I will revisit this piece in my library when I need to find solace.

. oh, emily ... if only you could see the absolutely unmistakable grace in these words ... do you know why you are such a precious poet ? ... it's because of your precious submission to poetry ... your relentless pursuit of poetic expression simultaneously with your relentless pursuit of excellence as a human being ... makes you a spectacular being who is becoming more and more spectacular with the passage of time ... much like wine ... :) ...

Ah, to converse with superior being would be like us talking to apes....to gain some kind of wisdom that would somehow set us free.....a fantasy in poetry, a silken web of dreams knitted together with golden thread...:O)
