That simple metamorphosis can sometimes keep us sane. It sounds so simple but isn't always that easy. We make our escapes as we're able to and reap the bennies from it. This is a delightful reminder Emily, and you often give me the little reminders I need and I'm so thankful for you.
Beautiful. I`m so connected to that feeling right now. What a wonderful way to start the day, sneaking some time on the net at work and I discover this gem. Poetic justice. Thank you!

thank you for all the nice words, i hope to return the favor soon
The line, "slipped the surly bonds of Earth" keeps coming onto my mind,
but I cannot remember it's context...But that is what poetry is, the means of unchaining ourselves momentarily from life's more egregious assaults,
and with luck, showing a fellow-wanderer how to, as well. Definitely a
"deep sigh, small smile" poem, here, Em!
Concise, yet I was there with you.. barefoot watching the clouds roll across the sky, taking in the scent of the air. Thank you for the escape to nowhere this morning.
a metamorphosis is what all of us poets undergoe everytime we write. a freedom that comes and lets our souls fly free and our spirits soar with imagery our mind takes us to

And you sit around my feet,
anxious for a story
or a kiss.
Listening to my words
spinning adventures,
like so much g.. more..
