Hope
A Poem by
Emily B
I fall
like Spring rain
sprinkling the ordinary
with imaginary color.
I drop
drop, drop
from an unseen Hand.
Waiting to be taken
up and begin again,
content in the pattern.

Emily, this is a beautiful representation of hope and hope's life it gives to us. Like rain, it renews us in every way. :)
“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.”
― Emily Dickinson

Stanza one with one quiet simile, "like Spring rain" you show the quicken the meaning of hope. You give it a smell and a feel. You close the stanza by defining the wide range of hope. I assume that the hand in stanza two is deific in nature, dropping hope down to where we need only scoop it up, and run with it.
It's a beautiful poem that brings to mind the wonderful reason that I found Shawshank to be the most uplifting movie I've ever seen. In a word ... "Hope"

There you go again with those soft, elegant, beautiful words.
This poem makes the rain outside my window all the more poignant and inviting. A wonderful accompaniment!

I love this poem. So delicate, and full of life.
Reminds me of rain drops in their serene tranquility.
The images are smooth, and peaceful.

Aw, this was so fragile yet so elegant. The first stanza was my favorite. Sprinkling the ordinary with imaginary colour felt so beautiful, I struggle to tell you why. Loved it, I really did.
After a second read, I'm not sure, but I think you could improve the last stanza. Sorry, but the rest is just so good, I think I might be right.

Gentle and hopeful. Perhaps even... refreshing. So few seem satisfied "in the pattern" nowadays. Thank you for this one.
