Seduction

Seduction

A Poem by Emily B
"

an idea drawn from a conversation

"

Your words flashed quickly

like bolts of lightning

each brilliantly illuminating,

charging my perception.

Your words pulsed from

you to me and back again,

luring me through dark  mazes

and the storm lights my way

magnetizing our connection,

melding our words,

phantom thoughts

become real.

Loom large through your

alluring inducements.

Seduction played into the

power of the idea.

Wanting more than just

vague reminiscences,

wanting to wrap

my mind around understanding.

Mysteries, enigmas--

reaching always reaching,

enticed by the unknown.

I lean in drawn

by an attraction

that eludes description.

I cannot extricate myself

from the web of enchantment,

chasing phantom thoughts

through corridors of my mind

Author's Note

Emily B
Two minds met here at the cafe one summer night. He was ready to turn in, catch up on some sleep before a busy day. She said something to try and make him understand the writing he had read earlier in the day. He said, 'Tell me more, you've seduced me.' She carried the thought away intrigued by the possibilities. . .

What I really like here is the way Emily brillantly expresses emotion, as something non specific, abstract, enigmatic, and doesn`t pack it into forced association but let it express itself as a mystery.Another fine poem.

Amazing, isn’t it? How words can be the catalyst and the reaction in the chemistry of communication…the mind is the wizard of creativity.

The unknown indeed, that voice in the darkness is as old as mankind indeed. It terrifies, yet often at the same time, tempts us. This seduction of the unknown is even stronger in this age of reaching across the miles electronically to make friends of those whose existence would never have been known to us.

You've touched on something both primal and primitive while at the same time being new. And you've done it with your typical depth of thought. A little more bite that your normal soft style, but that bite is appropriate for the subject matter.

Oh the power of our fantasies can be so overwhelming that acting on some of them becomes a neccesity... a sexy strong write.

Rich in sensuality, so much so that I did not realize that I was holding my breath until the read was over.
Many great lines throughout...but just loved this section;

Wanting more than just

vague reminiscences,

wanting to wrap

my mind around understanding.

Mysteries, enigmas--

Great Poetry!

I agre that you are so wonderful at giving credit where it is due - you find inspiration everywhere - a lovely trait. This is a sensual and desirous poem that is quite magnetizing. Thank you for sharing your talent for wordsmithing. Just lovely.
Love and Light,
