Revival

A Poem by Emily B
"

written after a weekend at an 1805 Kentucky Camp Meeting

"

Like the ember
smouldering
unseen in the ashes,
my heart will someday
flame passionately.
One breath--
is all I need
to change this
seeming-charred soul
into a
furious
fire.

That's all it takes and sometime it can come from sources we least expect. One moment you're feeling down and the next completely rejuvenated and ready to conquer the world. I love the allusion of rising from your own ashes like a phoenix here.

furious fires are to be avoided, at all costs...not a cosmic truth, or anything...just the voice of (ed's) experience

This is true, a small move, as others below have said, and you reach a new place in yr life.

How did you get back to 1805? Ha.

St. Albans, a town in vermont, was the most northern conflict in the civil war. Raiders came here from the south and robbed the bank and fled back to montreal. There is an encampment of northern and southern soliers each summer in our park. They shoot off cannon and chase each other around so that you can be having a picnic lunch in the middle of a pitched battle......

. amazingly inspirational and healing ... for those of us who have experienced suicidal tendencies at any point in time ... for any reason ... this is the most important lesson of all ... to remember to stay alive ... to know and believe in the power of that one breath ...
