Frost

Frost

A Poem by Emily B

Frost told us of the road not travell'd
And we listened,
and nodded,
and we quote the words
when they seem appropriate.

But what about the word not said?
When we see
emotion
in its rawest form,
without words,
do we dare
extend
our hand
to a stranger?

Wonderful sentiment.

We as humans would feel much more comfortable travelling down that untraveled road alone than we would offering a kind word to a stranger, I believe that is true. We have become bored with any kind of stimuli that is not electronic; person-to-person communication is becoming almost obsolete.

A nice reminder of Frost. His writing, especially thoughts of one less travelled made all the difference for me. I did calligraphy to his words and learned about poetry.
Good thoughts here and this would be a great poem for discussion among a few.

Only when you are sure of the outcome. Love is a gamble at best. Most people settle for comfort. Where does that the rest of us? Wanting or happy?

good words to ponder by.

What scares us in helping a stranger?

And for those who did, how many people have you told?

This is a very good personal reflection.

Good form, choice of words, and format.

A good piece

Very nice !! Comparing Frost's Wintery journey to the Winter of a society that keeps taking from the least of these and has so little time for the lonely while herds of photographers trail behind celebrities like flies hover around garbage.

This was a deep, thought provoking poem, with truth. Good read.

I love how you bring Frost's ideas into this and then extend it to your own. The point you make here is quite interesting and the answer is yes sometimes, at least from me. Of course I'm the kind of person that strangers approach. It happens all the time. The older women on the rez say I'm blessed with an open spirit that so many come to me like that. Not sure what I do besides listen to them and wish them well. But your poem here made me think about that and we all have the chance to extend ourselves to others in some way. You really have some great ideas here and you've expressed them well, yet succinctly. Unlike this review LOL

Yes, when compassion is felt it is important to act upon it. Written well.

I believe I already read this but it was a welcomed visit to see them again as they still rain in my heart as strong as the first time I read them. You convey the thought of questioning the world and its general beliefs that have formed over the years about trusting no one. Everyone is out to get you. Thank you Media for feeding this false reality tat most now fear.

Great JOb!!!!!!

What in deed of the word not said? Those words that can be the most powerful words; the words left unspoken; left hanging in the air or left mercifully at the threshold of a doorway.
