a small start

a small start

A Poem by Emily B

everything changed and yet nobody noticed

but i've noticed that a lot of people like to talk at me
they never give me room to answer back

it has been a year for change and stress and loss

five funerals in ten weeks, three of those murdered under the age of 33

there is something that is attacking the light-filled
i don't know if you've noticed

something that is trying to extinguish
those who are love

i notice that
i am still here

i thought i loved
my tears are real

the tears are real, the love is real...but others aren't listening...i have had that too---people talk at me...no room for response, or for them to listen...

but poets hear other poets...at least most do...but i guess some don't...they just say read me and glorify me with your comments...but there is no reciprocation..

life gets really hard sometimes, and we need someone to listen...not just talk.

nicely expressed...i really felt this one deeply...

All that is or was is no longer and will never be again and no one notices, but I am still here hiding behind voices that will not allow me to speak, quickly turning to mumbles as I stare at nothing. Really sad and the tears flow upon the page. Life is fleeting, we win, we lose and then we are gone. Great writing.

Death and the dramas of life seem to be coming at us at a higher rate of speed. Making it hard to process the pain and suffering around us. It is a battle to stay the course. Well done piece.

there will be many new days for most of us :)

hope still lives somewhere
The ups and downs of life, the gains and dear losses, the self traditions and changes, the small steps and leaps. May God be with you.
By the way, those who care notice...:).....
