growing again

growing again

A Poem by Emily B
"

for him

"

how do I let him know?

that we aren't offering

a space in the house

or a bed

or a leaky roof?

but a place in our hearts

all the love

and care

and support

that five people

can give

how do I make him understand?

that we have as much

to learn

from him

as he has to learn

from us

asking for prayers

that the answer

will find me

~ sweet emily, in such situations, only communication helps... frequent communication at that... ~ silence can destroy what words can worship... ~ conversations can build what pregnant pauses can swallow... ~ i do hope you shared this prayer with him... it would mean the world to him...

An open heart
Which speaks
Encouraging words
With welcoming deeds.

A reassuring hug
When the heart is down
Are just a few steps
To creating a home
For him.

Your welcome, Emily.
I've found that time, itself, usually holds the keys to all the locked hearts we encounter. He will, indeed, see all that you and your household have to offer, outside of four walls, a comfy bed and indoor plumbing. A house is merely a structure, after all, who we bring inside of it gives it the heart it needs to become a home.

i'll tell you bedtime stories any day of the week :)
Don't know what to say, but I always love to read what you write. It humbles me.

Simple, yet so intensely deep. I find this very mournful and yet hopeful at the same time. You have an amazing way of getting the reader into your head. I love your style and your imagery/metaphor. Well done, my friend.
