Revival

A Poem by Emily B
"

written after a weekend at an 1805 Kentucky Camp Meeting

"

Like the ember
smouldering
unseen in the ashes,
my heart will someday
flame passionately.
One breath--
is all I need
to change this
seeming-charred soul
into a
furious
fire.

That's all it takes and sometime it can come from sources we least expect. One moment you're feeling down and the next completely rejuvenated and ready to conquer the world. I love the allusion of rising from your own ashes like a phoenix here.

So few words but such dense passion fused with each and every one of them.

I like the way this sounds. It has such rhythm and grace. I like especially the pairing of ashes and passionately. Well done.

I love this. I'm sure you knew I would relate. I like the "one breath". I have found that statement to be true and not something you can fight at all. Your words flowed together as meant to be.
