Revival

A Poem by Emily B
"

written after a weekend at an 1805 Kentucky Camp Meeting

"

Like the ember
smouldering
unseen in the ashes,
my heart will someday
flame passionately.
One breath--
is all I need
to change this
seeming-charred soul
into a
furious
fire.

That's all it takes and sometime it can come from sources we least expect. One moment you're feeling down and the next completely rejuvenated and ready to conquer the world. I love the allusion of rising from your own ashes like a phoenix here.

I love the simile. It makes me think of going campaign when I was young and just how strong fire can be. Even though it is hidden, it still has the ability to come to life and burn brightly. I felt a little spark in my own heart after reading this poem.

Photons are strange.
the magnetism of warm touch
and the melting of skin spawn
from the same dance.

The dancers are blind and dream
of mad spells in divine oblivion.

Good to have you back.

This is simply astonishing, in so few lines you embed within me a furious fire, and light the burning desire to put pen to paper once more and scratch the words my heart yearns to whisper into the ears of the trees. Beautiful.
