Batalla de Soldado

Batalla de Soldado

A Poem by Yani De Los Reyes
"

A story of a soldier

"

---------------------------------------------------------

A bloody battle took place
In the land of Corregidor
A man with a strong heart
Stood up firm and unjust

The sky was red and dead
Many people were suffering
Tyrants who had no mercy
The soldier did not want to involve martyrdom

"I pray to God that this will end"
Said the soldier in pain
"Please guide me through this mess
And restore freedom in this place"

The soldier struggled against the odds
Firearms and explosion of charges
A field of battle, bloodshed
To fight for freedom lost

This was done. It has stopped.
The war in the land of promises
People cry for joy
To know that they have won

The soldier, who died in the end
He fought with blood and honor
He fought for the good of his country
And died with a smile on his face

That is the story of Soldier

I liked this very much. Patriotic yet the Soldier in the story wants to be home with his family.

I appreciate the English. A powerful poem. There was a old wise tale. When Soldiers would not fight. War would end. That would be a good world. Soldier fight for for their home and family. I hope the Government take care of the Soldiers. They can give it all for the goals of their country. A outstanding poem.

Thank you and I DO KNOW HOW TO SPEAK SPANISH. (Only a little.)

Corregidor also served as a fortress during the Spanish colonial period in the philippines. It was important to the Spaniards because through this fortress that the Spaniards were able to watch vessels coming in and out of Manila Bay. Also, the Spaniards used it to prevent the Moros from entering Manila. The MILF began when some Muslim soldiers were massacred near Corregidor. Their story was a sad one. They were suppose to invade Sabah. But they refused because Sabah was inhabited by a population of muslims. They were shot and killed.

This poem is nice. At first, I thought you knew how to speak in Spanish. Then, I knew that you used Google Translate. Still, its a nice poem. A brilliant work about the fallen soldiers of Corregidor. Patriotic and nationlistic...mabuhay always!

TO be honest, this was really about him. :D But it took place in Corregidor so I think i'm talking about a soldier during World War II when Corregidor was attacked. :P
