![]() WritingA Poem by Emiko Tagahushi![]() This was a poem for my Creative Writing class. It basically describes my terrible writing process. :)![]() I sit in front of my computer screen. But nothing comes to mind that I find keen. I tap and rack my brain to think and think I groan, I weep, I sigh, I blink and blink. My body slumps into the squeaky chair And I can’t bear another second there. I leave my writing thoughts a mess of dirt. I munch on snacks completely full of hurt. Perhaps a day or two or three goes by Until I start to numb and wave goodbye. I feel the story coming to an end. When suddenly a thought comes round the bend. There comes a story Oh - my goodness sakes! I toss the sheets and run without the brakes. I tumble in my chair and give a shout Of joy and shock - and all that jazz comes out. I push the power button on and wait And wait and wait and wait and wait and wait. My fingers tap impatiently and then - The screen turns on and here it all begins. My fingers fly across the keys with speed. The words eat up the page like starving weeds. I’m thinking that no one can stop me now But soon, I’m stuck, and - © 2015 Emiko TagahushiAuthor's Note
