Playing With Limericks

Playing With Limericks

A Poem by Leah

1.

She crawled on her belly,

The gypsy who drank nelly;

Her trinkets once twinkled,

And captured the feeble,

‘Til she was sold to ol’ man Billy!

2.

There lived a Cockatoo named Lou.

Who wouldst squawk at the moon.

So the moon came down,

And slapped the bird with a frown.

Now Lou has changed his tune.

3.

There was an Enchanter who loved ballet.

Who watched toe dancing every Sunday.

He came to a conclusion,

That prancing was his solution,

And bounded off the asylum by Thursday.

4.

There was a girl from Asia,

Who had a baneful amnesia.

Each night she went to sleep,

And prayed n’er again to weep.

Waking stranger to her walls of fuchsia.

5.

There stood an ol’ mountain of crystal.

That made e’ry feet that climbed him, brittle.

Then came by a surly mule,

And kicked him with much fuel.

Now dwarves make trades on that lil’ hill of crystal.
