Lifetime

Lifetime

A Poem by Daniel Parker
"

I wanted to try a different style. This is what I came up with!

"
I caught the glance
across the room,
emotions flood
like a monsoon.
We haven't shared
those moments in
a lifetime.

A passing smile,
a distant thought.
Does our love
now count for nought?
Each second
feels to me
just like a lifetime.

I see the glisten
in your eye,
is our flame
about to die?
I wait
for what now seems
to be a lifetime.

Each day it seems
we drift apart,
it's clear to me
he has your heart.
We'll be together
in another
lifetime.
