The raven angel

A poem written for my boyfriend and how he came into my life

I thought before I’d found him
The half that makes my soul sing
Until from the night he descended 
A new strange and fallen being.
Like snow black feathers fell about me 
As I perched watching him fall
But I have found he’s here to ground me
From the danger of it all.
Like hounds the past did bark and becon 
Tempting me with thirsted fang.
By dark wings I was surrounded 
And the hounds did yelp and ran.
I looked upon a face so weary 
As a mirrior of my own 
Before my mind knew what had happened 
Between us two a seed was sown.
I have seen a liars smile
Upon his face it did not rest
I have felt a cheating heart
But it did not beat within his chest.
It took dark wings to surround me
To chase my darkness away
And in his eyes I see the hope
That this dark Angel will forever stay
