Winter

Based on the song "Winter Soldier" from the Captain America: The Winter Soldier soundtrack.

The first thing you notice is the silence. It grabs you close and draws you in. Next come the screams. Quiet at first, but gaining in volume, the sound causing your heart to stop. What could be causing those? You think, but no answer is forthcoming as the sound washes over you. You fall to your knees, unable to take this any longer, your hands are blocking your ears, holding out the sound....

Bang. Bang. Bang. The clamor created by something striking metal hits you and you pitch forward, falling to your hands. The screaming is louder, something is hitting the floor behind you - you want to say it’s nothing, but the only word echoing in your brain is guillotine.

You scramble to your feet as he approaches. You’ve never seen him before, at least not in real life. He’s haunted your nightmares many times, just like this. You stumble back, only to be caught by strong hands. Whoever it is holds your head steady, forcing you to look at this torture device of a human being.

Your scream joins those that echo around the prison.
