A Child's ChristmasA Poem by EmaleighLynnFor a contest. The sleighbells ring Down the street. The fire crackles In the family room. The children wake, cheerful, grinning. They rush to the windows, Push aside the curtains. See the drifts of snow piled on the ground. Smiles widen, Feet bounce. Bacon sizzles, Mother calls, “Breakfast - then presents!” The children run Down the stairs. It’s Christmas, Their favorite time of year. © 2013 EmaleighLynnAuthor's Note
