Rain

Rain

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Drip, drop

The raindrops freefall.

Drip, drop

They hit the ground.

Light, flash

Here comes the lightning.

Flash, fade, BOOM

The thunder has arrived.

It makes me jolt and quiver.

The thunder frightens me.

Sending shivers down my spine.

I lay down, close my eyes

Praying it’ll all be over my morning.

I love the captivating imagery throughout this piece. I also like the way your writing appeals to the senses of sight and sound. Some great work here. When reading each piece I could easily visualize the lightening and hear the crackle of thunder as the clouds crashed together.

I love this one. It has such potential for hidden meanings, yet it is a good poem just on surface value. Great piece of work!

over BY morning?
Minor typo... I think my new story is riddled with them.

I remember being a little girl... and this poem brought the memory right up... and my brother used to tell me that the thunder and lightning were monsters that were going to come and get me and eat me alive. I was terrified for years. Now I just like standing out in the rain and watching the lightning streak across the blackened skies and counting the space between the booming thunder and the bright streaks.

Good poem.
Thank you for the memories.

How I love this poem, how it reminds me of when I used to do the same so afraid..strange that now I love and adore the thunderstorm..wonderfully written.

Nicely done. You have most certainly portrayed the tension some people feel during a thunderstorm. I personally love the intensity of thunderstorms.
