The Girl

The Girl

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

The little girl.

She laughs.

She cries

And asks why.

There is no response

So the tears flow.

It turns out

That no one cares.

The sun is out and shining

But the tears aren't gone.

For she has fallen deep

To the mercy of her imagination.

It is dark and unhealthy there.

The little girl.

She laughs.

She cries

And again, asks why.

Our writing has so much in common. I love the idea in the poem, love is very mysterious but it makes for great poetry.

I like this poem, the repetition makes this more powerful. Seems to me that imagination is the perfect hideout... Well done.

Wow. Amazing. I can relate to it so much. Imagination is more or less a perfect refuge from reality for so many of us. You've talked about the little girl in all of us who need to know that someone, somewhere cares.
The repetition in the end, i guess, points out that this is an endless cycle. I love this piece. Its so simple and so true to its core. :)
Keep up the good work.
