I Need

Someone to love me

To understand my deepest pain.

Someone to care

And tell me everything will be alright.

I need a person

Who I can be around.

And not have to pretend

To be someone I am not.

I crave to find myself again,

Knowing that I am there.

My arm reaches for my soul

But can't find it.

I need to be myself

When I know I am not there.

Hmm. Your poem speaks of an interesting yearning. Since at first you speak of your desire to find someone special. But by the middle you are talking of finding yourself. It really makes me think. First its like the "Someone" you need to love you is yourself. Then on the other hand, finding "Yourself" is kinda like when you find that special other person. So it really messes with me, and I like that. The longer I stay with this poem the more it grows on me. Good work!

i really like this, i wrote something similar to this, (in a WAY different format) a couple of months ago. pretty much saying that i want to be this, and i can be if i try to be.
But i also like this because it shows the human need to be loved.
