Nada to Do Tonight

It's 11:12 PM

And I'm still awake.

My insomnia has come back for some reason

And I'm not too thrilled.

 

I'm on Writerscafe

Tying up poetry.

My phone is next to me

And it's getting later by the minute.

 

My mom doesn't seem to mind

That I'm still up.

She's aware that I have trouble sleeping

But doesn't quite know the whole insomnia story.

 

I'm trying to find something to write about

But I am just typing random stuff

Not caring what it is.

 

My eyes are starting to hurt

From looking at the screen.

But my thoughts keep coming

And my fingers keep hitting the keys

On the keyboard.

 

Night gets later and later.

I don't mind

Because my writing has distracted me.

Along with insomnia.

But it has helped my writng,

So I don't bother to complain.

I too have had many long nights without sleep due to my mind being unable to shut off...and I also have spent many evening hours writing through my inability to sleep. I like what you've said through this poem...and for just being random thoughts..this peice turned out quite well...and I wouldn't bother to complain either with the amount of creativity you've demonstrated here...keep it up.

Wow, for something random, this is pretty good. Nice. I did notice some mispelled words though, thought you should know.
