A Prayer for God

Dear God,

          I ask for you to save me.

To save me from the evil within myself.

         I don't know this demon.

But it must be winning

        Because I feel myself giving in.

I don't want to lose

        So please, Lord

You must help me out

        This demon needs to disappear

I want to be back to normal

         The girl that deserves the love she needs

But isn't recieving

         From the world around her.

This poem seems great, and what adds to it for me is that it has the exact feeling I put into my very own poetry, but a little more subtly and softly, it's very good.

It's so similar in a way that the evil and sin inside is breaking out and we cry out to God to rid us of it.

This is exactly what I have been looking for subconsciously, if that makes any sense (Probably not...) :-)

This poem is full of emotions that I am all to familiar with, which is probably why I enjoyed reading it so much. It made me think of a girl holding on to this prayer as her last hope, feeling the demon that is trailing so close at her heels stealing everything from her - maybe even her faith. I saw this as somewhat like a 'last prayer,' or last cry of hope. You really hit home with this one, and I am glad I got the chance to read it! Great work.
