The Girl and the Boy

The Girl and the Boy

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

A boy sits on a park bench

Swaying his legs back and forth.

The sky is clear and a baby blue shade.

There is a slight gust of wind.

The boy closed his eyes.

He is dreaming of his parents

Who have passed away when he was young.

His right hand suddenly feels warm

It feels the touch of someone

He opens his eyes and looks to his right.

There is a girl beside him

She is smiling

Her eyes were sparkling brown

Her smile was gorgeous.

The boy tightned his hand

The girl lays her head on his shoulder.

He wipes away her tears

She smiles at him

"I love you" she says

The boy feels at peace

His hand continues to hold hers.

Her head still settles on his shoulder.

"I love you too," the boy adds.

And he could tell she was smiling

He knew it's what he felt

He knew those words made her smile.
