Still Up Once Knocked Down

The world is light, it is also dark.

It pushes us down

But we all must get back up.

Life is complicated at times

We may need help along the way to keep up

In the end, we are all strong enough

To help ourselves through these difficult times.

Others may not understand why we are still standing

Or know the reason why we even got up once we were knocked down.

That is for us to explain

When the moment is right.

I really like this piece, it speaks of one's character and drive. The topic is so vast but you do a very good job of conveying on how to stay on your feet and drive forward. It is very tough to get back up sometimes and hope is never a good thing to lose and you seem to have a lot of it. Don't lose that =]

I have a couple critiques, but positive ones, don't worry haha

Your first three lines flow very nicely and rhyme to an extent, but after that the flow is lost for the rest of the poem. In a poem it is very difficult to go from rhyming to not rhyming, you have to pick one or the other when you choose to write your piece because it sounds off when it is read.

"Or know the reason why we even got up once we were knocked down."
The even in this line kind of throws this line off. You can take it out without damaging the sentence.

I'm just telling you what I think other than that, you seem like an amazing writer and I enjoy reading your pieces very much! =] Please keep up the good work!
