I'm not the girl that everyone can see

Who people imagine or wish me to be

I am who I am

And no one can change me.

No fight will break me down

From the sound of these words

These words are mine

And no one is allowed to take them.

Every word is a part of my soul

My heart that I offer to the world

All these different words have shaped me

Into the girl I am

I am Emily

Let no one forget it.

My heart is here

So go ahead and take it.
