Stepped Down From the Thrown of Power

Stepped Down From the Thrown of Power

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

In this day and age

Why must I be the enemy?

The bad guy who everyone run from

They want to free their precious souls

From the clutches of my grip.

People fear me and animals flee their homes in which they once lived.

I don't smile nor do I frown in turn.

I cannot laugh or stay serious for a single moment.

The people who wait while the animals abandon their life.

Sitting in my chair, I wear no smile.

The clock ticks as time is passing us all by.

Time stops for no one today.

Everyone must feud themselves this day.

Today is the people's day.

Today is the day in which I, myself shall step down from my thrown of power.

Step down and walk away with a grin.

What will the people do next?
