Not Perfect For Mother

Not Perfect For Mother

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Why can't I impress her?

Why isn't anything good enough for her standards that she expects?

You tell me to try my hardest and I do

But you say you don't believe me....

How can that be?

Do you believe I can succeed and go far?

To bring myself up from this dark hole and be happy again?

i can't be the perfect daughter that you want

Any parent would know their kids can't be perfect...no matter how hard they push them

You claim I won't get into college

Just you watch

I will succeed with or without your support

Just watch me and see where I end up when the world decides to go down

I know that I don't have an account anymore, but this poem touched me. I love how you ended it with the fact that you are going to go to college anyway. You will outlive the expectations of your mother. Do not worry.
