What's wrong with society?

We are all left to fend for ourselves, with no one to trust.

Just thrown out with enemies to surround us and for us to decide who we want to be

We fight eachother because we are afraid of ourselves and want to show our true colors

But it is us who become the monster itself.

Society doesn't treat us the same way that it used to.

It doesn't give a crap about what we do or if we get hurt.

It won't protect us anymore becuase they claim we are grown up when we are not.

What are we to do about this?

There is nothing we can do but accept

This is a great poem! It is completely true with how we are expected to be a certain way and we need to decide who we want to be and not let society decide for us. Our world is corrupt, our society is corrupt. It's a great poem!

And yeah if anything we can do is accept..Then We Must Accept THIS and amend the Wrong in ourselves..First.
We should right ourselves society will follow suit :)

Wow okay. Let me throw this out there. I agree with the idea that society as a whole is screwed up. That collectively we have made some very very bad decisions. That there is a ton of BAD out there.
Yet,
The concept of all we can do is accept is acceptable. Many Many feel this way as shown with the other reviewers-
But (and I've heard this echoed in your other poems),
You must have faith.
Through faith people ultimately will do the right thing.

So true man, I don't know what country you're from but that really resonates with my feelings about the situation in Britain. We have a society which is losing all sense of fellowship or co-operation. In fact society is ceasing to exist, those who succeed look out for themselves and those who don't form an underclass. Having a government that actively encourages people to fail doesn't help.

Yes I hate it too(the situation), and when you see people in the street who look at you like you're crazy when you smile at them...what has the world come to? Yes i agree frustrating isn't it? society really sucks in the 21st century and we are all doomed because swine flu will probably be the end for us all a pandemic is on the way this winter with over 100,000 people expected to get the virus every day from next month a year will see 30 million infected in the uk and our government has given up on vaccination treatment what the heck is wrong with society when good peopleare the victims and the bad people are treated with more tollerance and respect?

Actually, society hasn't changed in that aspect. There has always been the "sink or swim" attitude within civilization. That doesn't mean there aren't factions out there that try to help, but the majority of society has always been this way. It is the "eat or be eaten" thread of our existance that we tend to pander to as a whole. If you look throughout history (closely) it is nothing new. If we can eliminate lust, greed, and the conquest of power, then this would change. But, alas, it seems to be ingrained within us to follow the base desires of our heritage. That being said, I wish it wasn't like that. Good poem either way.
