Moon Talks Through Darkness

Moon Talks Through Darkness

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Sitting on my bed in the dark, a notebook in my lap.

Pen in hand...no light shines through my window.

It's pitch black outside that window, don't you dare look.

Light suddenly shines through, blinding your vision for just a second.

The pen lights up and floats in front of you....huh?

Pen suddenly goes to paper, you aren't holding it.

It writes the words:

"Light is here. The moon speaks"

The pen falls, the light fades, it is dark once again.

This poem reminds me of the sudden flash of insight that comes when you are not "trying" to write. Then, trying to remember the Thought in order to write it.

The "light" is the illuminated mind. The "window" is the inner vision of the poet. The "black" is the outer vision which can suppress the voice of the writer.

Good moment of letting go and seeing. The best writing comes from this.

Wow. Interesting.
Really does sound like a dream.
But, why aren't we allowed to look out of the window?

I wonder how many of my own dreams started this way?
