The Sudden Silence

The Sudden Silence

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

A women stares off into the distance from her porch, what does she see?

She sees the white puffy clouds that assure her that everything will be alright.

Walking back inside her house and closing the door behind her, she no need worry.

Tonight is safe, maybe tomorrow will be safe as well.

Her daughter glances out her window that night and senses danger.

She sees dark clouds, full of rain and anger.

Danger is upon them!

The mother is asleep as the storm passes, she hears not a sound.

Raindrops are splattered on the roof and windows.

No blood was spilled tonight...just the storm passing through.

The daughter is relieved, the mother noticed not a thing
