The Mystery Horse

The Mystery Horse

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

The night passes on, darkness falls as the sun sets behind the horizon.

I sigh as my lamplight dims

Closing my eyelids...I think back

A dream suddenly invades my thoughts:

I am on a beach in the middle of summer

Hearing the heavy waves crash against the solid dirt.

Taking a deep breath lures in clean sea-air

I can smell the salt and smile

Next, a black horse with a white stripe down it's face gallops up next to me.

Not knowing where it came from, I look around curiously

Did someone send it?

I was in no danger as far as I knew

I need no horse, so why was it here?

The horse didn't look harmful

I didn't quite understand

The beach yes, the horse on the other hand...

Didn't know if it belonged here

It came out of nowhere!
