We Are Shipwrecks

We Are Shipwrecks

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

To each we are the
massive body of a shipwreck.
To find safe harbor.
Some of us are born chasing disaster.
Some of us are born chasing poetry.
The sky is endless grey
and I shoved the words together,
the words to a poem.
We spend all day
fighting the good fight.
Rejoice in its small victories.
With my first breath each morning,
my final breath each night,
I finally found a place to pause.
