Being Blank

Being Blank

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I act like I'm okay,
but walked in circles for days.
Pausing here & there,
trying not to dream.
Oh, I am getting good
at being blank--
mindless in the
middle of time.

It was lightly raining
along the rough
pavements of the city.
It's tough to say how
I felt about all the faces.
People on their way to work,
keeping busy with
earthly joys & tasks.

I kept all of that
to myself, until now.
