A Being Full of Wishes

A Being Full of Wishes

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I enjoyed a
cigarette in the dark,
watching the puffs
of white smoke
like thought balloons.

I watched the
nighttime from
the wooden dock
as the moon rolls
across the sky.

I find myself wishing.
I have so many of them
and often lose track.
Hoping to shrink
this wide world down
to an island
without bridges.
