Blank Paper Heart

Blank Paper Heart

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Without you...
my heart is like blank paper,
making it seem acceptable
for the heartless
to scribble all over.

I want the world
to stay silent
as I wish to reside
within our surprise connection.
You left a mark only I could see.

A life without you
would seem like being
lost in a fire, scorching
by your every word
which didn't mean a thing.

With a violent fear
of failure, I would forget
to follow your soul...
the only thing that etched
a prize-winning novel
upon my blank paper heart.

First read of yours..
Interesting and very wonderful use of metaphors..
Your poem can mean so many things to so many people.
I liked several lines so it would be impossible to pick my favorite.
Hope you read mine as well..

This is such a beautiful, amazing metaphor. The imagery here was amazing, and your words here were just so great! I really loved this one.

The enduring empirical pain draws us close to emotions than any other, In the line "A life without you
would seem like being
lost in a fire, scorching
by your every word
which didn't mean a thing." Beautifully penned the love for poetry and also can go another way how the speaker is lost and you can do everything to her but she's a warrior. The promises of the world yet all we feel is empty on those promises. Blank piece of paper is just the beginning fluctuating between fear and life yet you get something powerful at the end: "With a violent fear
of failure, I would forget
to follow your soul...
the only thing that etched
a prize-winning novel
upon my blank paper heart." Speaks volumes keep writing sincerely your friend in writing and life

The imagery here was really something to behold. You pulled me into this world and took me through some of the most powerful pictures that you could paint with words. Brilliant.

or the thought i might not quite get the story right...and the ending would be tragic for both of us.
really nice metaphor presented here.
hopefully "the prize-winning novel" wins the pullitzer of love---

Expressing one's emotions on paper. Letting it flow outwards, a heartfelt sad and deeply meaningful piece that we can all relate to Svetlana.

Sad as the loss if felt so deeply the protagonist could write and write out her love and her hurt. Another flowing piece filled with pathos.
