Writing You Off

Most would write you off their list,
But today, I'm writing you off my life.
I'll be gone,
But you'll remember who I am.

With you,
I saw my life in a spiral.
A never-ending bomb explosion.
This time, I couldn't afford to die.

I climbed the tower like you asked,
But never bothered to jump.
I taught the butterfly how to be fearless.
That was me.

This day,
I'm writing you off my life.
I'll be gone,
But you'll remember who I am.

I LOVE the third section so much! It sends such a message of regained self confidence. And the line "but you'll remember who I am" is something I can relate to a lot, because there's some people you just need gone from your life, but you know in some cases they won't be able to forget you, for good reasons or bad. It's just a matter of if you want them to forget you, or if you would rather them remember, so maybe they realize what they did wrong, and maybe learn from it.
