The Ants

The Ants

A Poem by Elyssa

There are feelings, emotions, thoughts, that can

not be expressed with words, only expressions

in an eye, a touch, or a murmured whisper into

an ear.

Then there is this, the powerful surge of emotion

that washes and crashes over like a wave

in the sea.

Life is meant for living and yet

we sit and watch while it passes

us by. A bomb is dropped and it means

nothing, except for the people it falls upon.

People rush through daily monotony

as if it were the most important task in

life. We are more like ants, seen from above as

creatures trapped in a world of their own, never

knowing that above us there is more.

If only we were to look! We would see what

looms above, ready to caress us and yet take us

away in the blink of an eye.
